As a nation, we come together to seek God's guidance, give thanks, reflect on our collective responsibilities, and pray for the leaders and future of South Africa.
This gathering offers an opportunity to stand together beyond political and denominational differences, united in hope for prayer, repentance, and revival.

A welcoming, Christ-centred movement calling cities, towns and communities across South Africa to prayer, repentance, restoration and a renewed relationship with God.
On 22 March 2025, history was made at the FNB Stadium with the Awakening South Africa National Day of Prayer and Repentance. Led by visionary founder Rachel Kalidass, with keynote speaker Dr Michael Cassidy, this landmark gathering brought together church leaders, parliamentarians, business leaders, youth, and former gangsters — united in humility before God.
Extended moments of repentance marked a powerful turning point for South Africa, addressing deep issues such as political corruption, violence, immorality, idolatry, and ancestral practices. The Spirit of God stirred a fresh cry for national healing and revival.
The journey continued toward a Closing Gathering on Table Mountain, Cape Town, on 3 October 2025, with prayer, fasting and repentance at the centre of the movement’s call.

Awakening South Africa, Prayer and Repentance Movement invites individuals, churches, ministries, Christian businesses, corporate organisations and other partners to stand with the 2026 National Day of Prayer and Repentance and the City Connect 50 Days of Prayer Campaign.
The vision is to cultivate more than a single event: a sustained movement of prayer, repentance, reconciliation, unity and spiritual awakening across South Africa.
Financial and practical support will help coordinate, communicate and facilitate the national prayer initiatives. Partners are also encouraged to share the vision with others who have a heart for prayer, South Africa and the advancement of God’s Kingdom.

Christian leaders from across denominations gathered at Parliament on Friday to confess the nation’s historic divisions and pray for peaceful local government elections. Speakers called for a revival that, like South Africa’s 1860 spiritual awakening, is proven not by emotion but by changed communities.
